Beginning borrowers start in a solidarity group, a small circle of acquaintances where members guarantee one another's loan. Clients with some credit history can receive individual loans for starting or expanding their businesses, developing new products, and for new homes. Microcredit clients are also able to open savings accounts, buy life insurance, and receive business consultation and training, all services rarely available to poor people. << Back to map
